Corrugated Box direct food contact
The packaging made from backed corrugated or micro-corrugated cardboard has several advantages without detriment to the creativity of the design and the quality of the print:
- It eliminates the need of additional transportation boxes
- Can act as counter POS display
- It allows to package heavy product like domestic appliances
- If laminated on the inside with a special film complying with the food standards it allows direct contact with food
Types of Flutes
Flutes come in several standard shapes or flute profiles (A, B, C, E, F, etc.). The most common are "B-flute" (used for die-cut boxes) and "C-flute" (used for RSC's). B-flute is compressed and appears thinner. It is made with more paper to provide stronger side wall protection from blows and punctures. C-flute is taller, with more air space, but offers enhanced stacking strength. E-flute is excellent for graphic reproduction.
